Most of my work can be found on my YouTube channel and in articles published at praxarchy.com. These explore a wide range of topics clustered around mythology and metaphysics. Notable works include series and organised events on the works of JRR Tolkien and Richard Wagner, as well as a day of videos dedicated to the Arthurian tradition. I am interested in discovering how these great literary tales can inform our engagement with the world, enriching our minds and enflaming our hearts to great deeds and noble endeavours. In short, I am fascinated by what they can reawaken in us today.
To that end, I have begun to write my own short stories, some of which have been published in the Corncrake Magazine. These tales are heavily informed by my knowledge of ancient and medieval myths and legends. For example, my first story, ‘Darklands’, draws upon motifs, themes and characters found in Anglo-Saxon, Norse, Greek, and Egyptian writings, shaped by modern worlds like those presented in the Dark Souls video game series. My hope is that, by drawing on these stories and retelling them in new ways, we can re-encounter their truth and beauty once again.
Beyond the internet, I have recently set up a tour company offering guided walks of Arthur’s Seat and Holyrood Park in the heart of Edinburgh. Inspired by research, the tours focus upon the Celtic history and Arthurian legends tied to the hills and city.
